Wisdom Teeth Impacted Symptoms
If you have impacted wisdom teeth, you may be experiencing pain in your jaw, gums, and neck. For me, I found myself teething and grinding my teeth a lot due to the sensation and tenderness. It’s important to visit the dentist twice per year as a teenager and young adult to ensure that you do not have wisdom teeth impacted. If you do, your dentist will probably suggest getting your wisdom teeth removed via minor surgery.
Impacted Wisdom Teeth Removal
If you choose to get your impacted wisdom teeth removed, you have made the smart choice. Avoiding the situation can result in very serious consequences such as a ruined jaw, nerve damage, shooting neck pain, and much more. It’s important to take care of your wisdom teeth immediately (don’t wait) before any of these problems become apparent.
When you get your impacted wisdom teeth removed, you will need to choose beforehand whether you want local anesthesia or be put to sleep. It is much safer to be conscious during the procedure.
If you choose to have your wisdom teeth impacted removed while under local anesthesia, the first steps are to numb the mouth with a series of shots. After your mouth is completely numb, they will start the process of removing the impacted wisdom teeth.
The surgery revolves around putting pressure on the wisdom teeth impacted and drilling them out. After the surgery, they will stitch up the area where the impacted wisdom teeth were.
Wisdom Teeth Impacted Recovery
After the surgery, your mouth is going to be quite swollen and you will be experiencing a lot of pain for at least 1 to 2 weeks due to the removal of the wisdom teeth impacted. Your doctor will probably prescribe you some strong pain medication for your mouth until you have recovered from the impacted wisdom teeth surgery.
During this wisdom teeth impacted recovery period, it’s important to keep rinsing your mouth with warm salt water to help reduce the risk of infection. The doctor will give you further advice on how to keep your mouth clean and free of infection.
